Name : The Navigators at Texas State University
Description : The Navigators at Texas State are affiliated with the international organization called The Navigators (Colorado Springs, Colorado).
Purpose : The purpose of The Navigators at Texas State is to help interested students learn how to navigate through life with a Christian worldview by: providing students with opportunities to meet other Texas State students of similar faith and values, and grow in Biblical understanding, character, sense of worth and purpose, interpersonal skills, ministry and leadership, providing students with diverse learning environments wherein they can discover life-relevant principles about the Christian faith as presented in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, providing students who demonstrate leadership potential with more focused opportunities for mentoring, based both on the individual needs of the student as well as the long-term goals of the organization, and providing students with a deeper understanding of the message of The Navigators.
Membership Requirements : Any full/part-time matriculating undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at Texas State may take part in the activities of The Navigators at Texas State. To be an active, voting member, the student must have: attended at least 50% of the meetings of the chapter for at least two (2) months and been a member of a Navigators small group for six (6) months (unless the student has been in a study abroad program, an internship, or was involved in a Navigators chapter on a different campus).
