Name : Texas State Powerlifting Team
Description : The Texas State Powerlifting mission is to foster elite strength athletes that will win national placings and produce lifters of high-caliber.
Purpose : The purpose of the Texas State Powerlifting Team is to provide a platform for people of all walks of life to come together to push themselves mentally and physically to compete and represent Texas State on an elite drug-free national platform
Membership Requirements : A: Must be a Texas State Student. B: Athletes must have a minimum of a 2.0 GPA, be registered through Club Sports, regularly train at a gym, maintain satisfactory team attendance (see below), and have membership with USAPL. All team members must compete or plan to compete. C: Athletes who are not affiliated with Texas State and Texas State Sports Clubs are PROHIBITED from competing and claiming to represent Texas State University, AS WELL AS ATTENDING TEAM MEETINGS. All lifters representing Texas State must be accounted for on the team roster issued by the president. D: Members who are ineligible to compete the semester they join the team will be assessed by the officers to determine if the lifter will be placed on probationary status or regular team membership. E: Athletes must be willing to get a gym membership at the teams Gym choice of the year. For the 2022-2023 season that will be with Metroflex in San Marcos
