Name : Phi Iota AlphaDescription : Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity is committed to the development of professional leaders through shared experiences and fostered lifelong brotherhood. These men continuously promote the ideals of Pan Americanism via intellectual dialogue, cultural awareness, and community service; and are committed towards the empowerment of the Latin American community.
Purpose : Our mission is to develop leaders and create innovative ways to unite the Latino Community. Our fraternity's roots extend from the late 19th century, being the first Latino-based fraternity and the first Latino-based student organization in the United States.
Membership Requirements : The completion of one full semester of college at a credited institute of higher education. (First time Freshmen are prohibited.) Has earned credit for a minimum of 12 college hours. Sustains an Overall and/or Texas State GPA above a 2.65 (Transfer students without a Texas State University GPA must sustain a 2.75 or higher transfer GPA). Meets financial obligations including, but not limited to: national dues, application fee, and initial chapter dues.
