Name : Society for Geographic Information Science (SOGIS)
Description : SOGIS is dedicated to spreading knowledge and appreciation of the Geographic Information Sciences by hosting guest speakers, fairs, and booths and serving the wider San Marcos and Texas State University communities. Members network with GIS professionals in a wide range of fields, share internship and job opportunities on various forums, and participate in independent projects developed by the organization.
Purpose : Our purpose is to provide students the opportunity to gain experience by collaborating on GIS projects, obtain professional contacts by hosting networking events, and learn about the applications of GIS from guest speakers.
