Name : Latinas Unidas
Description : Biweekly meetings on Thursdays at 6:00 p.m. in LBJSC 3-13.1. Focus on friendship, empowerment, and awareness of Latino culture. LU allows for students of similar backgrounds to connect & create meaningful relationships! Insta: @latinasunidastxst
Purpose : The purpose of Latina Unidas is to: 1. Empower membership through identification with indigenous ancestral roots and participation in cultural awareness activities and events; 2. Encourage and support members educational goals, aspiration and holistic educational goals, aspiration and holistic educational experiences as Latina/Hispanic college students. 3. Provide a sisterhood of friendship emphasizing spiritual and emotional support; 4. Create a sense of solidarity through exploration and awareness of pertinent advocates in the struggle for social justice.
Membership Requirements : A general interest in issues that affect Latinas. Respect for Latino culture and community.
