Name : MAES-Latinos in Science and EngineeringDescription : MAES is the foremost Latino organization for the Development of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) leaders in the academic, executive, and technical communities. MAES will host their meetings in the Roy F. Mitte building, room 4234 at 6:30 starting September 15, 2018. There will be a meeting every other Wed.
Purpose : *Increasing the number of minority science and engineering students at Texas State University-San Marcos. *The retention of minority students already enrolled in fields of engineering and science. *Promoting the advancement of science and engineering students in education and employment by cooperating with professional, government, and academic organizations. *Providing a forum for counseling, financial assistance, and the exchange of important information between all minority engineering and science students at Texas State University-San Marcos and elsewhere. ~~"Many Cultures. Membership Requirements : No person shall be denied membership in this organization because of race, color, sex, handicap, nationality, religious affiliation or belief, etc... Even though the name (Society of Mexican American Engineers and Scientists) was chosen. All fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) are welcome.___
