Organization Information

Name : Medical Explorers Post 4077
Description : One of the oldest (1991), largest, and leading Texas State student organizations devoted to increasing awareness of all health related careers, and changes in the future of health care. We do this through intensive professional quality presentations by practicing health professionals and patients living with a great variety of diagnoses. We help provide extensive volunteer experiences and training to prepare future health professionals with an in-depth understanding of their coming careers. We also help arrange many volunteer opportunities with local health agencies and as volunteers on medical mission trips with the San Antonio Health Science Center Medical and Dental Schools.
Purpose : To provide students with interest in pre-medical, pre-dentist, pre-nursing, or any healthcare field opportunities to learn more about their chosen health care career and volunteer in many settings to see health care up close. We have weekly presentations from health professionals, and/or patients. Also medical mission trip opportunities several times each year. You need to see our web site to understand all that we do.
Membership Requirements : Any undergraduate or graduate student with any interest in health related careers or the healthcare field who has a desire to volunteer and learn more about their future career area.
