Name : Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Student Branch
Description : The Texas State IEEE Student Branch is a student organization that encourages the involvement of students in the engineering field through volunteer opportunities, competitive competition, and networking social functions. By promoting the student members careers, the IEEE fosters the technological innovation of not only the surrounding community but the world as a whole.
Purpose : IEEE aims to create a network of students, faculty, and experts in engineering who work on solutions to real life technological problems. IEEE would like to provide students with opportunities to develop leadership, professional, and entrepreneurial skills.
Membership Requirements : Section 1: Eligibility Each student member of the Branch, hereafter referred to as "Branch Members" must meet all of the following requirements: - Have no violations indicated on his or her University academic record. - Pay any and all dues required by the Branch, in a timely manner as determined by the Executive Officers. ($20 per semester) - Be classified as an undergraduate or graduate student at the University. - Be enrolled in at least 50% of a normal, full-time course of study at the University, currently defined by the University as 6 credit hours.
