Organization Information
Name : Black Health ProfessionsDescription : We want to be able to uplift our members and other minorities and Black organizations that our main goal is not to work against each other but to work together towards a common goal in excelling as black students. With this organization, we basically want to build a bridge for our members to connect with professionals in what they want to pursue in the health professions. We want our members to be able to come to us for information about what they need whether it be class requirements, test dates, possible internships, or shadowing opportunities all these things and many more they may need for their respective health profession pathway after undergrad.
Purpose : The purpose of the Black Health Professions Organization is to foster an environment that acts to support and encourage students of underrepresented minorities, in their pursuit of careers in healthcare. BHPO is to be seen as a support group, whose main focus is to provide students with valuable information about the field of healthcare and grant them access to resources such as networking, shadowing, volunteering, mentoring, and possible tutoring opportunities. BHPO does not discriminate in any shape or form and welcomes students of all races, genders, ethnicities, sexual orientations, etc. We aim to unify students in the hopes to alleviate the already challenging process of applying and matriculating into a professional school.
