Name : Phi Alpha Theta
Description : Phi Alpha Theta-Sigma Zeta chapter is the history honor society at Texas State University. We are a professional society whose mission is to promote the study of history through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians. We seek to bring students and teachers together for intellectual and social exchanges, which promote and assist historical research and publication by our members in a variety of ways.
Purpose : To promote comradery between students and faculty while encouraging discussions of historical research
Membership Requirements : Undergraduate students must have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours in History, achieve a minimum History GPA of 3.1 and a minimum overall GPA of 3.0. A maximum of 3 credit hours of online, transfer, or AP credits may be applied to the 12 semester hour requirement. Membership is not limited to History majors.
