Name : Bobcats Impacting Globally at Texas State
Description : Bobcats Impacting Globally at Texas State is Texas State's first mission trip organization. It will serve to aid students in funding a mission trip to Costa Rica to demonstrate the Bobcat Spirit and compassion by serving in underprivileged cities.
Purpose : The primary objective of Bobcats Impacting Globally is to help under resourced churches in underprivileged areas of Costa Rica carry out their missions as the churches define them. Bobcats Impacting Globally will do this by raising funds throughout the school year to support a team of missionaries under the guidance of The Envia Foundation. Bobcats Impacting Globally shall not require all members to attend the mission trip. The finances of Bobcats Impacting Globally will be made up of three accounts, one for the collection of dues generated by membership dues (Dues Account), one for the monies that shall be used as a project fund during the mission trip which shall be generated through fundraising events (Project Fund), and one for the dues per mission trip attendee required by the Envia foundation which will be raised independently by the person who desires to attend the mission trip (Personal Trip Payments).
Membership Requirements : The criteria for selecting membership is as follows. All potential members must be currently enrolled students of the Texas State University- San Marcos and members who desire to attend the mission trip must also be currently enrolled students of the Texas State University- San Marcos and have a minimum GPA of 2.5 as of the due date for semester membership dues. No member or potential member shall ever be discriminated against based on their race, religion, political affiliation, sexual orientation or preference, or their gender. All currently enrolled students of the Texas State University- San Marcos shall have an equal right for admission into the organization. The process for selecting members shall never exist. Any currently enrolled students of the Texas State University- San Marcos shall be allowed to join at any time during the year. There are no other qualifications for membership.
